Full Journal pdf1996-04-28 Senate Journal Page 3667 SB 180 CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 180(FIN) An Act authorizing the commissioner of natural resources to negotiate and enter into timber sale contracts that provide for local manufacture of high value-added wood products; and establishing an Alaska Forest Products Research and Marketing Program within the Department of Commerce and Economic Development was read the third time. Senator Lincoln moved that the bill be returned to second reading for the purpose of a specific amendment, that being Amendment No. 4. Without objection, the bill was returned to second reading. Senator Lincoln offered Amendment No. 4 : Page 3, line 15: Add a new subsection (5) The existence of adequate protection measures to ensure the sustainability of fish and wildlife habitat and populations and continuation of other uses of the area subject to the negotiated sale; Renumber bill sections accordingly. Senator Lincoln moved for the adoption of Amendment No. 4. Senator Halford objected. The question being: Shall Amendment No. 4 be adopted?
